this was [explicitly removed](https://github.com/react-native-clipboard/clipboard/commit/53ccc9ca9c1a43a803c071c9b533803514c3e117) to remove a deprecated property for newer versions of Gradle - are you sure this is what's causing issues in *newer* versions of React Native?
