Not getting obfuscatedExternalAccountId as App User ID from appstore webhook
when configuring Google Play real-time developer notifications (RTDN), we want to use obfuscatedExternalAccountId as the appUserID, but RevenueCat appears to set a different hash or value instead of the provided appUserID
👀 We've just linked this issue to our internal tracker and notified the team. Thank you for reporting, we're checking this out!
Hi @amir-schmooze. Are you using the RevenueCat SDK in your project? If so, we recommend not selecting the Use obfuscatedExternalAccountId as App User ID option. Instead, we recommend using the Use anonymous App User IDs option.
That said, how are you identifying users in your app?
We are gradually migrating from our custom In-App Purchase (IAP) implementation to RevenueCat. Currently, we set our app's user ID to identify users within the app. However, when RevenueCat sends callbacks to the Google Play Store, we are not receiving our user ID. This is critical because, during this partial migration, we need to map RevenueCat transactions to our existing user IDs for both the Play Store and App Store to maintain continuity.
@Jethro87 Any update on this? We will not be able to complete the integration without this
@amir-schmooze @singhayush1403 Can you both create a support ticket and mention my name (Jeffrey)? I'll watch out for them and reply ASAP. I'd like to dig into our logs for both of your apps, and don't want to share sensitive configuration or logs for your apps here. Thanks.
