Spawning fires
In S2 it was somehow possible to spawn fires immediately on game start without any buildings (e.g. 2NDpaign chapter 1). These fires never expired. I assume this information is present in WLD files, so possibly this could be handled by the MapLoader. Otherwise it could be enabled through LUA.

You can already do that - sadly I didn't upload the script yet, but you can just rotate static objects to simulate fire - and then you can even extinguish them.
