that issue was fixed by https://github.com/sylabs/singularity/pull/3970 marked merged for the release 3.4 . Current version of singularity-container in debian sid is 3.5.2+ds1-1 and we do not provide yet backports for anything from neurodebian for the 3.x line. I will approach ndall build of singularity-container from that version to be uploaded to all releases (should work I think).
