For discussion: Should we start a community forum?

I received a message today asking:

I’m looking for a forum or a community to ask questions about KaiZen OpenAPI Parser. Can you give such an indication ?

My reply:

It's early days for our KaiZen open source components. As of now, the repository on GitHub is our only community channel. I've seen this work reasonably well for other open source communities, where opening a GitHub issue is the way to ask a question or start a conversation. It is often the case that there's an underlying need that sparks the conversation, for example a need to improve documentation, provide an example, or add a missing feature.

But we could consider opening a Slack channel, a Google group, or some other community forum. I'd like to get your thoughts on this, and solicit some opinions from others as well. Please look for an issue in our GitHub project, and I look forward to your input there!

So here I am, asking for some input from interested visitors and contributors. Should we maintain everything here in GitHub issues, or should we create a separate forum for suggestions, Q&A, and general conversation about KaiZen components?

If we want a separate community forum, what's the preferred medium? Slack, email group, or something else...?
