Stopped working

Open docbill opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

So, I noticed after install the extension my sound stopped working. No sound devices detected at all.

I suspect that was a completely separate issue. So I did a dnf update -y, rebooted. My sound is back but this extension stopped working. I have tried reinstalling and reenabling the extension but it just seem to have no effect at all.

Mmm, well the sound issue is almost certainly not due to this extension but perhaps the update broke something. First of all, have you tried deleting the vertical-overview folder from ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ and then reinstalling? That usually fixes things.

If that doesn't help could you:

  • check what version of Gnome you are running, the Fedora version might differ from the Arch one.
  • open the extensions app and check if the extension indicates any errors.
  • run journalctl --user and search for any errors relating to vertical-overview.

Uninstall, reinstall did not help.

The GNOME Version is 40.1.0.

There are lots of errors from journalctl --user but none related to vertical-overview.

Odd, so what exactly are you seeing? Is it listed in the extensions app? Does anything change when you toggle it on/off? (the journal should get messages whenever the extension is toggled on as well)

If you could post the contents of that log that might help. It should at least confirm for me that the extension loads properly.
