CPU fan sensor always faulting after PC restart (with value of 65536 RPM) until changing the speed curve in ASRock MB utility
Hello,
I am using this fantastic utility for couple of days now. I have a cpu cooler (SilentiumPC Fera 5) with pwm (connected to the FAN1 output; FAN2 is also available, both with pwm), 6 case coolers without pwm(and these coolers are connected to the splitter witch also controling the argb - it is a quite simple solution; splitter is connected to the CASE1 output and the CASE2 is also available, both with pwm option).
I am not sure when my issue started but right now after powering on or rebooting my system the cpu fan showing the 65536 rpm value. It keeps showing this value until I manually confirm the fan curve in A-Tuning utility for my ASRock motherboard. Software doubles some bios showing/settings capabilities - it can shows the temps and rpms (the cpus rpm is always correctly showed even when FanControl showing the 65536 value), set the fan curves, etc.
On my system I have also using the OpenHardwareMonitor for monitoring (only) my stuff (this program not showing the rpms of cpu fan at all). First of all I have removed the OHM and A-Tuning from autostart option. It was not helped. Secondly I have removed completely the A-Tuning from my system (using the revo uninstaller) - still no success. Additional observation is also funny - changing the curves while booting to the system did not affect the rpm value in FanControl - it still shows the 65536 even that rpms are changed (and changing with cpu usage) in bios. So for now only way to solve this is keep using the A-Tuning utility.
Refreshing the sensors, removing the paired sensors did not help either.
Any advises?
I found a way to deal with this problem automatically. But I do not know what causing it - my motherboard software or the Fan Control software.
The A-Tuning has two independent options:
- a) start with the Windows,
- b) apply the fan curves with the application start.
a) and b) may be marked independently. When only b) is marked, the app is not starting with the windows and Fan Control showing the 65536 rpms of the cpu fan. When the a) is marked cpu fan rpms are displayed correctly in the FanControl app - no matter if b) is marked or not.
