Error message "Could not load the configuration"

Always the error message (latest update from fan controll): could not load the configuration. an unexpected error has occured and has been added to the log file.

Yeah, me too, seems that config file backward compatibility broke in the last update

...and it destroyed my config file that I spent weeks fine tuning by replacing it with the default one. Great.

Same here. I had to roll back all the way to v87. I added a firewall rule so that FanControl is restricted internet access and does not look for update anymore (still a great piece of software though)

same here - have the feeling, that it mainly happens after hibernate / Enery saving states .

but i do love the software - working fine after restart

@hainfelder you got a removable hard drive timing out. Untick the storage section in the sensor settings.

Added a multi-retry mechanism since, until all sensors are back.
