cannot make fancontrol change rpm

motherboard: gigabyte aorus x870 elite wifi 7

i have been using this application for a while with my old motherboard (msi z690 edge) and it worked perfectly fine for everything i did, but since i've changed to this new motherboard i'm not able to change case fan RPM's, gpu fan does work though. all the sensors get detected correctly but when i try to change any of the percentages it doesn't effect RPM either.

i have tried everything, going into bios and setting fans to manual and PWN mode, uninstalling gigabyte software, manually pairing speed sensors, nothing seems to work. any help would be appreciated thanks
