Sensors: add "manual control" sensor
It's a new entry in the "big plus" menu.
Once added, the UI has three controls: "Fan speed when off", "Fan speed when on", and an on/off slider switch called "On".
It would be very useful to create a new entry at the top level of the tray context menu, with a checkbox. This way, you can easily add boost to your fans, etc without delving deep into the FanControl user interface. I know you can have multiple configs, but if you tweak configs a lot then you'd have to keep those multiple configs in sync etc, whereas having everything in one spot would mean you can use just one config, plus a UI element exposed by this functionality.
But then how do you assign that "boost" to a specific control in the current fan control scheme? Add it to a mix? And why do you want to boost manually? Temperatures should drive your fans already, so they will spin up if needed.
FanControl isn't meant to toggle stuff on and off in a config all the time, which seems like how you want to use the software. It's meant a config once and forget.
Yes, you would add it to the mix
Sometimes you don't want the pc to respond to temperature spikes too fast, eg when you're asleep.
