Fan Control v214 doesn't recognize GPU sensor (worked in old versions) - Nvidia 2080 Ti
Fan Control v214. Nvidia driver 572.16.
GPU temps aren't available. I have "Show hidden cards" enabled.
Log file shows this:
2/12/2025 4:38:28 PM: Try refresh failed. Retry count (2) exceeded.
NVApi could not initialize or has no sensors.

Thanks.
Did you just update the driver? Have you rebooted since?
@Rem0o Yes sir. Updated the driver while having an old version of Fan Control installed (v18x). I noticed the fan controls were not working and that's when I updated Fan Control to v214.
PC has been rebooted +5 times since. Also, I have set "Start at user log on" to 30 seconds. Same result. No GPU temps.
Thanks.
NVAPI_ERROR means the driver returns an error when FanControl tries to access it. Have you done a clean install of the driver?
That I know, yes, but I can always use DDU and try again if that's your advice.
I'll do that next and report back when it's done.
Thanks.

Its a known problem i reported it almost a year ago and only way i solved it was going back to studio drivers i used before https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases/issues/2682#issuecomment-2414525980
I got it working the other day with the newest nvidia studio driver then i reinstalled windows and i am back to

hmm no other program can read the fan speed Not even Nvidia's own app can show fan speed Tried a ton of studio drivers the one i found where fan monitoring and where you can change fan speed is 560.70 all after that i cant do anything and Nvidia's new app cant even see the speed so Nvidia broke something on some PCs
same here, had this issue with every game ready driver after 560.70 including the latest game ready driver 576.40, not even nvidia can read or set the speed as stated by @Hun73rdk
I have a 2070 super fe
it's definitely a driver issue. is there some way for the devs to report this to nvidia? I've tried contacting consumer support but that didn't lead to anything useful
