Can you isolate the problem to the ADLX plugin, like if you disable it?

I have tried 15 minutes with and without adlx, and yeah it seems the issue come from adlx

but I found interesting things, adding workstation unlock as a trigger in task scheduler can be a workaround for this issue

also i am not letting fan control to stop in 3 days by disabling this

I have also noticed this same problem where fancontrol is no longer running after waking from sleep. I was attempting to use the same workaround of using task scheduler to launch it on login, but I can't seem to get the tray icon to show up when launching using task scheduler.

I can see fan control is running in Task Manager, but launching another instance does absolutely nothing and I can't figure out how to change settings if there is no tray icon to right click and open the main window

Thanks for this suggestion. I had the same issue but by adding the "workstation unlock" trigger it seems to resolve the issue. I don't think the underlying reason it closes in sleep mode is resolved, but this at least is a work around that achieves the same end result. I started to notice this problem after adding the ADLX plugin, but now it is working great.

actually -- perhaps it doesn't. It seemed to work for a while but since then has stopped. I am quite confused. I have made no changes to Fancontrol but since then the Control on the Video card is not responding. I can see the rpm being monitored on the Speed cards but control doesnt work anymore, even if i switch to something like a flat 100% curve.

My system: Windows 11 Gigabyte Eagle 6700 XT MSI Mortar Max B760M motherboard Fan control installed with ADLX plugin

Hello.

I confirm I noticed too that waking up from sleep mode, FanControl wasn't running anymore. Actually noticed because my HDD temps went up crazy high via HDD Sentinel. I wonder why by the way because by default they spin via the mother board control...

  • Completely removed FanControl v174 folder included settings and config
  • Clean installed FanControl v174 (the .NET 8 version by the way!)
  • Did the assisted setup from scratch according to my last config
  • No plugin re-installed this time (had the ADLX before - that was useless).

No crash coming up from sleep mode now !

I'm pretty sure it was the ADLX plugin that made it crash. Worst thing, there was no error in the log file except these entries 👍 28.11.2023 20:14:57: Manual fan tuning for AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics is not supported

https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.ADLX is now much more stable.

Thanks Rem0o will check it out!

@Rem0o This looks like it's only for AMD cards, i'm assuming this won't work with the nvidia issue
