All settings gone after updating to v149

All my settings are gone after the update, I don't understand how to be honest. I had set everything and I was happy, I updated it and now am I expected to do everything again?

Take a look at the location of FanControl. Might the updater put the new version in a different place?

This happened to me for the previous update as well as the current one. The updater.exe is located in the configuration subfolder instead of the root folder of the program. So the new update is placed in configuration as well.

I am running the program with an absolute config path, so that may have something to do with it:

C:\Users\micro\AppData\Local\FanControl\FanControl.exe -c C:\Users\micro\AppData\Local\FanControl\Configurations\default.json

@s-geissler that was a bug in the previous version where the updater would be downloaded in the configuration folder and mess up everything. The newer version detects that behavior and fixes it.

Not sure if this is better here or if I should make a new issue, but I just updated from v194 to v196 and lost some of my settings. I originally set everything up and named all the fans and set curves, then around a few weeks ago I switched out a fan and renamed it and set it to manual, but when I just updated it went back to the original name and curve. So the settings weren't entirely lost, just the most recent (though still not very recent) changes.

Edit: looks like it also disabled all the fans and cleared the curve selection. So basically wiped everything except the names, and even those weren't entirely spared.
