IC2 Classic and Turbine Generator/EU Splitter

Open MachiavelliSeraphim opened this issue 2 years ago • 4 comments

The EU Splitter outputs EU packets exceeding 8192 EU/T. This is greater than any power handling item in IC2 Classic can handle causing anything connected to it to either explode or burn away. Unfortunately this makes the Turbine Generator useless.

I know this has been brought up before.

Its a big ask, but could we get a user interface for the output such as the IC2 Classic Adjustable Transformer? Adj Transformer

If not, can we get the Tier hard set at 2048 eu/t and unlimited e-net packets?

Thank you.

@ReikaKalseki A simpler solution may simply be to cap the packet size to 8192. UI related work is much more difficult than simply preventing the outright underlying cause :)

2048 would be preferable since IC2C cables exist that can handle it.
8192 cant be handled by Anything in the IC2C mod except an EV transformer.

You can place the EV transformer right up against the splitter, which would be an acceptable solution to then shift the 8192 down to 2048, which can then be downgraded to 512 via the HV transformer (similar things are done in other areas of RotaryCraft. An example might be the high ratio gear).

I know this. Its been a while, but as I recall, the transformers will only handle 1 large packet into 4 smaller ones at a time per transformer. So to convert millions of eu at a time would require a massive 8192 distribution system to supply the trasformer banks. There are no cables in ic2c that handle 8192 natively, so directly going to 2048 instead provides a way to transport the power to step down transformers in useable quantities.

2048 is more practical for whats available at the scale at which the turbine makes power, at least from what I remember offhand. Either way works, ones just less practical from my point of view.
