Start on boot

I came across aftvlauncherhelper which can start any app at boot time (including firedtvlauncher), or when the screen comes on, or when home is pushed. Any way to integrate the same feature into firedtvlauncher? Its a pain for non-technical family members to start it manually after a reboot. Right now I'm using atvlauncherhelper to do it, which works but would be nice if the extra app was not required.
