Vault integration to switch from passwords in secrets

Could you folks please clarify if it's really mandatory to have the admin password for the operator as a vanilla Secret object? We use Vault pretty much for everything and whenever a password is needed inside a config file we just template the whole file with the Vault injector. Would this be enough for the operator? Is it possible with an enterprise license, perhaps?
