Uninstall for the "old" RDM removes both versions

Open sergey-v9 opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Not a critical bug, but a confusing behavior. I had rdm-2021.10.406 installed, then downloaded a new installer resp-2022.0.425.exe. After installation, I have two programs installed: RDM and RESP app. And when I ran "uninstall" for the "old" RDM it removed both programs :/ Had to install RESP app again.

May the "new" installer remove previous RDM version during installation?

Environment: Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 OS build 22000.493

@sergey-v9 thanks for the bug report. It's a known NSIS bug and unfortunately, I don't have time to deal with it at the moment. The good news is when you update the app via auto-update it's installed in the old dir (C:\Program files\RDM or C:\Program files\RedisDesktopManager by default) so most users shouldn't face this problem.

If anyone has a simple solution on how to fix the installer - please submit a PR or share your idea as a comment. Thanks!
