The table of contents does not build properly with non-alphanumeric values

The table of contents does not build properly with non-alphanumeric values. For example:

{{< labs openshift33 >}} WORKS {{< labs openshift-3.3 >}} DOES NOT WORK

Both the '.' and '-' break the index build. It would be useful to include both characters to allow for differentiating versions or expanded description flexibility.
