Recorded cases of invincible enemies

The long-standing bug where any drone (not sure for other enemy types) can spawn invulnerable to most sorts of damage sans explosions and door crush. Wouldn't be surprised if this is actually an intentional 0.0001% chance or something. d_invulnedrone_t13700_v7144.zip Recommend rd_force_spectate_marine 3 as it was first met by another player when I (luckily) went back for turret. Ended up running away after it killed everyone else, its pathing probably broke on the small elevator so it never caught up.

ok, what I've determined so far:

  • the drone spawned at 1016, 772, 1240 (a spawner is located here) image
  • drone was playing the Idle animation on its first tick, then switched to the Run_Idle animation (which means it wasn't burrowed in the PVS and it started moving immediately after spawning)
  • m_takedamage was set to DAMAGE_NO, which should only happen when a drone is burrowed and invisible. this is the part that I need to figure out to solve the bug.

There is another, arrived to team camping near TIlarus' Landing Zone hangar hack at about tick 5600. I could tesla it at some point, then it was naded. d_semiinvuln_drone_t5600_v7144.zip

I've also dug up a 2019 video that's probably entirely useless, but it did have a shieldbug not burn when flamer-puffed. Sometimes I meet none in many hundreds hours, sometimes two in a day. this_is_fine.jpg d2_vulnerablen't.zip One after the entrance door of Information Department, one by the end of a Marine Academy run for 100 points. Both were deleted by explosives after realizing pewpew doesn't work. The one that tried to deny academy turned out to be a jumper.

Methinks If the meta wasn't so GL-centric, the issue could've been many many times more visible.

d_invuln_t3500.zip Yet another drone, first met by back minigunner. Then Sarge looks at it frozen, stays still for a few seconds, holsters his GL and departs. Thanks to Sarge, entire backline died, including himself.
