The convar "con_logfile ../console.log" dosn't work now, but it worked serverals months ago. Before, I used this convar to store my console log file in the parent directory of game path. I didn't seach out any commit records about this, so is this probably be an exception?
I tested this and can confirm. It almost looks like Valve removed it.
The default location still works, without specifying, the file is put inside reactivedrop/console.log.
Unless "several months ago" is 2020 or earlier, I don't think an engine update changed this, as we haven't had a new engine.dll since the RCE was patched.
I supose that it was working on 2023.08.02 because I wrote a python script that day to handle these log files. But my server has expired now, so I lost those log files. @mithrand0 When did you test this?
