A patch that brings back the swipe down gesture to stop playing music on the minimized player. This feature was widely appreciated and integrated well with the overall user experience. Hello?
I can swipe down just fine. The feature hasn't been removed.
I can swipe down just fine. The feature hasn't been removed.
May I ask which version you're using?
6.04.53
That's very old. I'm talking about the latest versions though I didn't mention any. Please try 6.10.51
It's removed in the latest versions starting from 6.08+, or at least that's from when I noticed that it's removed. Please consider this as a valid issue.
I just installed 6.08.50 and the feature persists.
Please restart.
I restarted and the feature persisted.
Not for me and I tested it across multiple devices before opening this issue.
Sounds like a bug, report to YouTube.
Nope, they made changes to the minimized player. Articles are present for the same.
No, the article mentions a slight redesign that adds the cast button:
"This down gesture was presumably removed to not interfere with swiping for next/back, and the initial reaction is mostly negative since there’s no other way to clear your queue now besides starting a new song.
Additionally for users that don’t Cast very often, the new shortcut will go unused, especially since it also exists in the top-right corner of the app."

Since this is a recent change, wait a couple of weeks. Depending on user feedback, they might bring it back.
That article was from May. The app rollout with this feature is from July. And this change is there in the latest versions.
I don't think this is an A/B testing anymore and they have decided to rollout this feature widely.
ym extended has already have this feature just use youtube music extended 👍🏼
Yep, I got this redesign too and would be happy to be able to swipe down to clear music again. Was a good feature
