Recently Meta has slowly been rolling out a new security upgrade for FB/Messenger chats, end-to-end encryption. Soon every chat is getting this upgrade.

Hiding typing indicator does not work on chats after they become end-to-end encrypted, seems there might be more code that needs to be patched.
