[FR] Add an easy back a few minutes for retroactive tracking

Open 1over137 opened this issue 10 months ago • 2 comments

Thanks for the retroactive tracking feature; it is a much better workflow for my needs. However it sometimes happens where I only select the activity a few minutes after the start of the next one. It would be useful to have some extra buttons to adjust the end of the previously logged activity (just one row of those buttons used in the record editor would be fine, but obviously only the minus is needed)

Hello! Thank you for the feedback. I'm trying to avoid adding new stuff to the main screen. I could make last records click able on the main tab, so it would open same edit screen as on the second tab, so that the end time would be more accessible. Will it help?

It would be good to avoid extra taps. How about like this:

  • Short press: show the row of +/- buttons directly just for editing end time
  • Long press: Open up that edit screen

On a similar note, is it possible to have retroactive tracking (great feature, by the way) only take place after a user-defined time? For example, after 5 minutes (which is the inactivity timer I use).

Sometimes, I track a few short tasks that aren't started immediately, and if I forget to start tracking, there is enough friction to make it a bother to set the precise start.

I also think the inactivity timer would be the cutoff where the user has forgotten to start tracking an activity anyway, so it makes sense to have the retroactive tracking start by then.
