testing directory tree writing tree.txt from public share not outputting file

I was looking for a way to have a user add some sort of tag to files shared on a public share, considered developing my own but then found this project.

Experimenting with the directory tree example script, i cannot seem to get it to write the tree.txt from the public share. i can see it generated when used from my user logged in. it looks like you can use the log function to output things which ill probably do this weekend to dig deeper but logging this since it seems that the public share cannot seem to write out the file.

im hoping its just something i havent set up right just yet because this would be perfect for my use case of adding a tag or some way for a user to easily flag a file that i can see from my login. my scenario is providing images to a client and then having them click the menu to select photos that they would like for physical photo prints.

i also noticed that the script only shows up under "More actions" from the public share view.
