Device Characteristics Only Update When Home app Opened

Describe The Bug

I'm unsure if this is by design, but for me (300s), the device characteristics only update if I force-quit and re-open the home app.

This means automation based on say, the air quality will not execute automatically.

Expected behaviour

I'd expect the characteristics to update in the background automatically, allowing automation to be triggered without the home app needing to be opened.

Logs

Nothing obvious in the logs, other than I can confirm that calls are only made to get characteristic values when the home app is opened/refreshed.
