[BUG] Fortnite wont launch (MacOS)
I get this message when i launch fortnite, how do i fix it?
This message appears when the game's process couldn't be started. If I understand correctly you are using a Mac. How have you set up Rare and what version of Fortnite do you run? Does is have a Mac version?
im running the latest version of fortnite and i downloaded it on mac, i wasnt sure whether it works on mac?
I will assume it was the Mac version of Fortnite. If it was the Windows version it doesn't work without some compatibility tool and you have to configure that yourself first. Try enabling the console in the settings through the following option and see if anything useful is printed there. You could also attach the Rare_Launcher_Fortnite_<date>.log in this report. You can find the log by clicking the Open Log directory button in the settings.
According to https://github.com/RareDevs/Rare/issues/337#issuecomment-1855276815 the latest testing build didn't work either
Can other games Mac games launch on MacOS? Is this issue specific to Fortnite or a general one?
I am testing on MacOS Catalina. The first time I run Rare, for some unknown as of yet reason, It only offered the Windows version of games. Did you install the Windows or the Mac version through Rare?
Ok, please try this testing version, there was a few things wrong with Rare on macOS, one of which was defaulting to the Windows version of Games. This version should fix a number of issues with macOS. You will need to uninstall the games manually, and they cannot be imported yet due to what seems to be a legendary issue. My test games, Minit and 2064 launched correctly with this version.

Experiencing this on Windows too

This is most likely not the same issue. This issue, from what I know so far, is because the wrong version of the game was getting installed on Mac
Should be fixed in https://github.com/RareDevs/Rare/releases/tag/1.10.9. Please note that might need to re-download the game. I will let this issue open until the game is verified as working.

This is by now an older release, please try either the current version 1.10.11 or the pre-release 1.10.11.45. It will try to run it with crossover if you have installed the Windows version previously. You have to uninstall the Windows version and install the macOS version.
where do I download the macOS version?
From Releases, the dmg file
Ive tried to play rocket League and Fortnite but the issue is still the same I keep getting the popup
As I explained above, Rare currently can play only macOS games out of the box. Rocket League does not have a macOS version, so you are installing the Windows version. Rare doesn't know how to run windows binaries in macOS. You could have some success if you use GPTK and configure it through the Wine configuration. It is not something I have tried personally as I am using macOS through a VM. I guess the same is true for your Fortnite install, but Fortnite has a macOS native version, which you could install.
