program not responding when trying to add PSD files

I have tried multiple times to create a new project with a PSD file and the program just goes into a never ending loading state and displays the phrase "not responding" in the title bar.

The problem is with the underlining FreeImage library, it does not support all PSD files, it must have hung on your file.
