Ripping from disc not working 6.41 onwards
As above - worked fine in version 5.21 - since updating to 6.41, sits at 0.1% and does not start encoding. Have gone back to 5.21 to allow for disc conversions for now.
Not working on version 6.41 on Windows 7 or 10, ripping works fine on version 5.21 on a Windows 7 system (can't confirm Windows 10)
Fixed:
Unchecked (left off) Worker Process and the disc conversion starts and works fine.
Could you go to Global Options -> Advanced -> Logging Verbosity and selected "Extended" ? Then paste an encode log to pastebin? It would help me figure out why the inter-process communication is not working.
I am also experiencing this problem. Will get you logs on next encode.

My disc is already ripped to hard drive. Don't know if this is different than original poster. This particular encode stopped at .4%. It typically stalls somewhere between .1 and .4%. Some discs are successful, others aren't. Can't determine a commonality.
Hmm. It looks like the cross-process communication is just fine and it's sending encode progress updates regularly. It's just that hb_get_state_json is returning the same low % progress on every call, which would indicate something has gone wrong inside the HandBrake code. Does switching off the worker process fix it? Does it work when using the official HandBrake UI?
Also is this a 100% repro for certain sources for you? Does it ever work on a retry?
Does switching off the worker process fix it? Yes Does it work when using the official HandBrake UI? I'll dust off my Handbrake knowledge and try tonight. Also is this a 100% repro for certain sources for you? Yes Does it ever work on a retry? No
Thanks. Would you be able to let me know what sources it's failing on? If I can get my hands on that I might be able to figure out what's going on.
@zwylde5150 if you could tell me what disc that was, I could also try to get my own copy to reproduce the issue.
