Can the encoded video directly replace the source video?

That's a dangerous feature since it requires automatic deletion of the source video. If the encode didn't go right, or you didn't like how it turned out there's no turning back. Maybe you accidentally encoded with the wrong Picker selected and lost some files.

I've been reluctant to set up automatic deletion of source video since I can see large potential downsides for the user.

Maybe someday, if there is enough demand for it.

You can change the delete source video operation (Move to trash instead of deleting)
