Green bars if using "Video codec H.265 (Intel QSV)"

Problem Description

At first, big thanks for this awesome tool! I used Handbrake for a longer time and as they don't get batch to run I'm so happy to found VidCoder!!! :)

Now to my problem: If I use the "Video codec H.265 (Intel QSV)" I always get green bars on the right side and sometimes on the bottom:

VidCoder x265 QSV Green bars

If I use "Video codec H.265 (x265)" with QSV Checkbox selected I don't have a green bar:

VidCoder x265 QSV OK

Why is it so? And what is the difference?

Many thanks in advance.

What version of VidCoder are you running?

9.1 beta but it happens also with older versions

I get a few hits searching for "Intel qsv green bar". One of them suggests keeping the width/height as multiples of 16. I'll have to investigate a bit more and see if I need to program in a modulus for that encoder. Or bring back the modulus UI.

Oh, okay... What is the difference, if I choose 265 QSV from the "Video codec" or choose the 265 and click the checkbox, as you can see in the pics?

The QSV Decode checkbox determines if QSV is used to decode the input video. It appears that the green bars are added by the encoder, not the decoder. And that only the QSV encoder adds the green bars.

The QSV Decode checkbox determines if QSV is used to decode the input video. I guessed so... ;) What I tried to ask: What is the difference, if I choose it from the dropbox with Intel QSV against the "normal" x265 and activate the checkbox. Looks like there is a difference because the QSV from the dropbox makes green bars, the "H.265 from the dropbox with checking QSV in the checkbox not....

Yes it's the encoder that's making the green bars.
