What were the actions you took before this happened? Did it just happen after the video loaded, or did you click something?

Have you tried unchecking "Use preset" in the Picker window? If that is set, it doesn't allow you to change the preset from the encoding settings window.

Had the same error today. I also needed to force close VC because "Ok" and "X" don't work.

Can you provide your %appdata%\VidCoder\VidCoder.sqlite file and a minimal of steps to reproduce the issue?

I can do that tomorrow. :) Where to upload? The Step where:

  • Putting a Video in the Editing Area
  • Clicking on the upper "Video and Audio Codecs" area This with "Use Preset" in the Picker Window enabled. If it's disabled, all is okay then.

You could upload to Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive.

Thanks. Though sadly I still cannot reproduce the issue. I loaded the sqlite file and poked around a lot with Use Preset enabled, and the dialog box always disappeared and moved the preset back to the one specified on the Picker. I'm trying to figure why it would be behaving differently. What version of Windows are you using? Does the issue reproduce every time? Also what do you mean by the "Video and Audio Codecs" area?
