In general, Do Not Want, and I'm tired of having to manually delete it to keep from cluttering up the screen.

And it's both misleading and problematic when it refers to files that don't exist any longer, such as video files being converted to a newer format from a removable device/drive (all of those old .wmv home videos on DVD-RWs being made viewable on a TV that only accepts .mkv/H264 files on a USB stick, or transferred to a phone in a different resolution).

The best solution is to not keep these lists at all; they're far too subject to privacy and other abuses. The second-best solution is to allow users to determine whether their particular installation keeps these lists... and please don't overwrite a user-set preference with the next update like a certain behemoth in Redmond keeps doing (reinstalling gaming-only "features" on business machines every time there's a system update, for example).

Global Options -> Advanced -> Uncheck "Remember previously used files and folders"

Also VidCoder stores settings in %appdata% which is preserved in both app upgrades and in OS updates.
