iOS: If app is left showing article in its own web view, then tapped notifications don’t load new article correctly.

Hello, I have noticed this bug on iPad, but have no idea if it also occurs on iPhones.

Summary If you use the app’s in-app browser option, and enable notifications for a feed then there is a state in which tapping the notification has no effect in NNW.

Steps to reproduce:

Enable notifications for a high frequency update feed (e.g. a news site like BBC news). Open NNW and tap on any article. It will display the article in its own web view full screen. Switch away from NNW and lock iPad. Wait for a notification about a new article. Tap notification.

Expected results A). NNW should either load the article into the web view that is the current view. or B) NNW should pop back from that web view and push a new web view with the article.

I mention A and B, because it seems to me that A may have UI bugs, where your navigation position in the feeds could still be for the old article and when you have finished reading the new (notification) article your place in the feeds/articles hierarchy could be wrong.

Version: NNW iOS v6.0.2 build 610

Hmm, doesn't appear to affect my iPhone, which is running the TestFlight beta v6.1 (6106).

Not sure if this is because of the version or the iPhone/iPad difference.
