After version 2.10 my ts80 is getting stuck on 5v

Open steveman29 opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Hello, I have the ts80 and after version 2.10 it is getting stuck on 5 volts although I have it on 9v or 12v. To unstuck it, I have to pull the USB off the power source. Sometimes it is stuck on 5v two times in a row. Also some times it is starting with 9v or 12v (depending on my setting) and while soldering, it drops to 5v and stays there. I tried with a Xiaomi power bank that is working fine with ver 1.09 and below, and also with the original power adapter. Maybe it would be better if there was an option for the user to disable 5v in case it isn't needed. If you can fix this I will be grateful. Thank you!

Hello, It looks like you have not provided the version information requested in the issue template.

Can you please provide the version information. Version 2.09 and 2.10 are very old, as this firmware is on 2.15. I'm suspect you are running the vendor (Miniware) firmware, not this firmware.

If you are on this firmware can you please provide the model number of the supplies you have tried?

If you are using the vendor firmware you are welcome to try this firmware to see if it solves your issues. Otherwise you will need to ask for help on their forum :)

The problem is appearing when I use your firmware from 2.10 until 2.16 RC2. I am using your firmware from the day that I purchased the soldering iron. Which model numbers do you mean that you need me to provide?

Ah okay, I was wondering that since 2.10 is very old at this point.

Can you please provide the version information from the debug menu (hold rear button for 1+ seconds while on the home screen). Its the top line of text.

Also can you provide the model numbers of your chargers as well. Will need to see if I can find out what chip is used in them, and then try and find documentation on how they are not complying with the QC3 implementation.

Ok the version is: v2.16.D6AF465 02-10-21. The charger is: DNQ18U-U (it was included with the iron) and a xiaomi powerbank: PLM11ZM. They both work fine with version 2.09 and backwords.

I had a similar issue that was quickly solved by increasing the PD timeout. Have you tried this? It seems like there are slight timing differences between Firmware versions.

I did try this but still some times it is switching to 5v and does not return to 12v or 9v depending on my setting.
