Add cloud storage access and allow adding storages using SAF
Wish the development team can add this feature in the future, so user may get access to their files in computer wirelessly or even in the cloud drives i.e: GDrive, Dropbox. But at least ability for ftp access will do the magic.
The competitors like Material Files by zhanghai implemented it flawlessly, here I attached the screenshot for it. Also the closed source one, Cx File Explorer implemented it too
Most(?) cloud providers support WebDAV, so that would be a starting point (instead of trying to implement something for each provider separately)
I really like this app, especially the UI — it's clean and intuitive. However, I wish it had more features, similar to what's available in Material Files.
As mentioned in the v1.3.0 changelog, I've made a lot of adjustments to the codebase so it can handle other types of storages. FTP will be added soon, but I'll be taking a break for sometime, I've spent literally most of my free time on this project, and there's still a lot to be added. Once FTP added, I'm really hoping contributers will add the other types based on that. I want to make a contribution guidelines, but that on itself is going to take even more time.
This may be a dumb question but is it possible to simply mount those external drives to the file system or would you need root for that? Being able to access anything like a SMB share in the app is great but if we could actually mount them to the phone file system then we could actually use those resources natively in other apps like photos as the save location.
Came to the repo to ask for the same. I used to use CX as my main, but this File Manager is got a better UI (the tabs are amazing). WebDAV/ftp/NFS/etc would make this the perfect File manager.
