Discord Server

Open sud0xenn opened this issue 4 months ago • 6 comments

Hi, I have some ideas and would love to talk about the project with you. I'd like to contribute to it as well.

A discord server would be nice to have to avoid creating unnecessary "question" and "help wanted" labels here. Most FOSS projects have a discord which encourages effective communication.

Let me know what you think!

A discord would be a good addition. The problem is, as student who doesn't study programming or anything related to tech really, I get very limited time to work in this project, let alone managing a discord server (in fact, this is my last week being active, and I'll be gone for about two months and possibly more).

This project, as much as I love working on it, has grown more than I ever imagined, and became more and more complex, and on top of that, and because it is a file explorer, there are almost endless features that can be added.

Anyway, I appreciate your support, and I'll definitely make a discord server (or any other community platform) when I feel appropriate to do so.

For the time being, GitHub issues will do the job.

@Raival-e How about enabling discussions here on Github in the meantime? It will encourage community discussion without having a loaded issues page!

Are they enabled now?

Are they enabled now?

Yep, seems good!

Considering this is a FOSS project and Discord is not, I'd suggest using Matrix instead, tons of FOSS projects use that for project chats.

What kinda logic is that lol. Discord is used by the majority. Not everyone is a privacy advocate and certainly won't create a new account on a new platform just to join a single app's discussion board lol. Discord is far more accessible and so many FOSS apps use discord.
