Is there a functionality for importing/exporting emails to/from?

@RainLoop I don't think so for this moment.

You can export an email. Open the email and choose export to eml from the options drop down (besides the reply button).

Thank you @ervee We are still missing the import though.

@HLFH Why don't you think to add a Import feature in Rainloop?

airon90 avatar Nov 16 '17 11:11 airon90

@airon90 Because I now use Roundcube, that does the job?

That's not a valid reason to close the bug report. Is it possible to reopen it?

+1

Export functionality for multiple emails or a whole folder is necessary to backup emails before deleting them. This is necessary when you run out of available disk space for your mailbox.

Since @davidoster the owner of this issue has closed it, @airon90 @ghagerer can you please create a new issue related to this closed issue?

Why not reopening it? @davidoster could simply do it :)

Hello I am also interested in import/export several mails. Our case: we share the same email for an association between several people. One of them configured wrong thunderbird and now has deleted all old emails. We need a way to recover them for the people that uses web mail. Also, we give support to people to migrate from gmail to free software. We have being able to solve people leaving Gmail to Rainloop through coping folders from one account to the other, but it will be much more efective to be able to export and export, as @tanzib-ahmmed asks.

Thanks a lot for this great software :)

I have an issue where my old host used RoundCube. And I now use Rainloop. But I want to "move" the old mail from that into my new host. I don't want to "forward" it all. There should be a way to "import and export" in Rainloop.

@rosa2 Could you please detail how you did it ? or provide a tutorial on how to do it ? I'd like to transition my organization's email adress from one hosted at Gmail to another one managed on Rainloop by a third-party provider.

Thank you, in the meantime i've been told about a tool called imapsync that i think will do the job wonderfully ! It's a free tool that can be used online over at https://imapsync.net/ for mailboxes with up to 3Gb worth of mails.

So don't bother with my request anymore :) good luck for this end of year rush!
