World is huge and I am tiny

If I stand next to village Hearthians, My eye level is just slightly above their belly, they are almost twice as big as I am. But the entire world scale seems huge, my usually small ship appears huge inside, everything looks much farther away than it should, as if the entire world is scaled up except for me. The ground level appears to be correctly where my feet are though. Just putting the camera higher would not solve that just like crouching and standing up doesn't make the real world appear smaller or bigger (something 1 meter away from me appears 1 meter away no metter how high my head is) and also it would detach the ground level from my feet - so in addition to making my character taller the interpupilary distance of the 3D camera might also need to be increased to make the world and distances appear the right size and put the ground level back on my feet.
