Resize Featured Images only?

Is there a way to have the plugin only resize images that are uploaded as Featured Images and not resize images that are inserted into the content of posts? I tried looking through all the settings, filters and issues and couldn't find anything related to this.

Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thanks for the great plugin!
