Keyboard shortcut for bigger step forward/backward
Thanks again, the most beautiful video client for GNOME. I switched to your player and bring missed features from mpv.
I very like to have ↑ and ↓ keyboard shortcut to bigger step forward/backward compare to ← an →.
We can add Shift+← and Shift+→ to very small forward/backward step when you try to find exact frame.
The amount of step forward/backward using ← and → can be customized in app preferences (seconds, minutes or even as a percentage of video duration). If you want to do a "fast forward/backward" by higher amount of time, you can press and hold arrow button (OSD with progress bar will appear to show where are you right now) and you will seek to this point once you release the button.
step when you try to find exact frame
Having ability of frame stepping (with dedicated keyboard shortcut) would certainly be a nice addition.
I would love it if Clapper would copy the VLC shortcuts for skipping – Both because they're very useful, and because VLC is popular enough that many people have gotten used to its shortcuts. Not that all features of popular apps should be copied, but keyboard shortcuts gets stuck in your muscle memory.
VLC does it like this:
Shift + Left or Right arrow: Jump 3 seconds back or forward
(Alt +) Left or Right arrow: Jump 10 seconds back or forward
Ctrl + Left or Right arrow: Jump 1 minute back or forward
Ctrl + Alt + Left or Right arrow: Jump 5 minute back or forward
Having multiple options to go back and forth different amounts of seconds depending on your need is very useful! It saves time for example when you just need to go a little bit back to hear one word again.
