Track numbers all mixed up

On Kubuntu 23.10 and latest Carla (at 44khz), the tracks do not coincide with the inputs. They seem to be all over the place, not 1&2 to first, 3&4 to second etc. I am assigning all stereo tracks, no mono.

I think I misinterpreted the numeric pad usage. Each is a stereo pair. Perhaps they should be labeled 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 etc.
