Article reading does not need to be automatically marked as read. When browsing social media, it is hoped that scrolling will mark it as read. Can the existing settings be optimized?
Clear and concise description of the problem
When reading articles, I don't need automatic marking as read. When reading social media, I hope it can be automatically marked as read when scrolling. Currently, it seems that only a global setting is available.
Suggested solution
Add a new setting option to distinguish between article reading and social media browsing scenarios. Provide separate settings for marking as read. For article reading, users can be given the choice to disable the automatic marking as read function. And for social media browsing, a dedicated setting can be enabled to make it automatically mark as read when scrolling. This way, instead of having just a global setting, it caters to different user preferences in different usage scenarios. This will enhance the user experience by allowing more customized control over the marking as read feature according to the nature of the content being consumed.
