Description
Number Formatting Issues
For French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Finnish, and other European languages, as well as Turkish, they follow a different convention from English (US/UK). These languages use a comma , as the decimal separator and a period . as the thousands separator.
For example, the number thirteen thousand point five is written as 13.000,5 instead of 13,000.5 in these languages.
Incorrect number formatting may lead to misunderstandings.
This issue needs to be addressed in Follow.
Date Formatting Issues
Not all countries use the mm-dd-yyyy date format. Only the United States and a few other regions follow this convention.
In Europe, including the UK, the standard format is dd-mm-yyyy. See the example below:
Similarly, Asian countries typically use the yyyy-mm-dd format.
For example, in the image below, the date 2-11-2025 could be misinterpreted:
- Europeans would read it as November 2, 2025 (
dd-mm-yyyy), - Americans would read it as February 11, 2025 (
mm-dd-yyyy).
Incorrect date formatting may also cause misunderstandings.
Additional Note:
There are significant vocabulary differences between British English, American English, and Australian English. It is recommended to design separate localized English translations for these regions.
