Bridge request for Tapas

General information

Yes, I know Tapas does have RSS feeds already, but a) Tapas has been hiding the links to them from comic pages in the last year, wanting people to sign up for their site so they can follow them over there, and ever since Tapas switched the series URL format from tapas.io/series/34824 to tapas.io/series/comic-name-here (the still-current RSS domain format is tapas.io/rss/series/34824) it's been obvious that RSS is slowly being phased out of the site, which sucks. And b), half the Tapas comics I follow via RSS literally 404 for while before magically fixing itself every single day, causing me to go manually fix it in my RSS reader every time, and it's really annoying. I would love to have a bridge that tries to fix that issue, if it's possible.

  • Host URI for the bridge (i.e. https://github.com): https://tapas.io

  • Which information would you like to see? The images extracted from each chapter of the comic, all displayed in sequential order, as well as maybe the author notes for each chapter. (And maybe a link to the comments?)

  • How should the information be displayed/formatted? Images all displayed in sequential order with no padding/margin between them, followed by the author description of the chapter.

  • Which of the following parameters do you expect?

    • [X] Title
    • [X] URI (link to the original article)
    • [X] Author
    • [X] Timestamp
    • [X] Content (the content of the article)
    • [X] Enclosures (pictures, videos, etc...)
    • [ ] Categories (categories, tags, etc...)

Options

  • [ ] Limit number of returned items
    • Default limit: 5
  • [X] Load full articles (not sure if this applies here but I'm checking this anyway)
    • Cache articles (articles are stored in a local cache on first request): yes
    • Cache timeout (max = 24 hours): 24 hours
  • [X] Balance requests (RSS-Bridge uses cached versions to reduce bandwith usage)
    • Timeout (default = 5 minutes, max = 24 hours): 5 minutes

Not sure what balance requests mean, can anyone clue me in on what this means?

Thanks so much in advance! 👍

Interesting story about Tapas. Have you contacted Tapas' support about RSS feeds? If yes, what do they tell?

Not sure what balance requests mean, can anyone clue me in on what this means?

It means "In how much time feed cache must be invalidated".

Haven't contacted Tapas yet, although I'll probably do that within the next few days.

Any results?

I... completely forgot about this, I'll admit. Oops.

If anyone wants to contact them for me then I'll be extremely thankful, given that my attention span is super low these days... >_>
