[Feature]: Allow token movement distances to appear above the token

Open nicholascain opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

Feature Request

The use case this matters is with the use of touch screens. I have some in-person/hybrid sessions where we like to use touch to control our tokens. Since movement calculations appear below the token, your finger is in the way, and you can't see how far you're moving. If your game uses a lot of variance in Terrain Modifiers for your maps, or includes One-Two-One diagonals, seeing that value is especially important.

The Solution you'd like

I'd propose a View-level setting which toggles where the movement distances appear. The Show Movement Distances setting could be replaced by a submenu like below:

Movement Distances

  • Show above
  • Show below
  • Hide

As a caveat, this probably gets rid of the possibility of a keyboard shortcut, which I haven't had a use case for but I'm sure others do.

Alternatives that you've considered.

@thelsing has improved touch controls in development... not sure if this is an issue he covered or if his current build address this in any way. Commenting to bring this to his attention.
