J-Stars Victory VS+ crashes when using special attacks

J-Stars Victory VS+ occasionally crashes when performing certain actions with the error "VM: Access violation writing location 0xffdead00 (unmapped memory)" On the current latest build, RPCS3 v0.0.27-15082, the frequency of crashes increases when setting "Preferred SPU Threads" to lower values, with consistent crashes at values of 2 or lower.

One way to reproduce the error is to start a new game as Ichigo, then start the first fight as usual and hit the enemy with any special attack. Then the game freezes and the console shows the error I mentioned earlier. Another method is to wait on the title screen until the game starts displaying fights. In most cases, the game crashes on the first shown fight.

Until recently the game was trying to compile shaders non stop and at one point it just stop doing anything It's probably still in ingame status

Several wrong settings there, why Disable ZCull and GPU Texture Scaling, as well as SPU Mega

The crash doen't happen with these settings. I'll test what fixes it and add that to the initial comment.

Try SPU Mega first

Setting sleep timers to Usleep Only appears to fix the problem. I only tested the first two fights in Ichigo's story though, so it could just be far more rare.

EDIT: Crashes still occur with these settings, although the crashes are more inconsistent.

I tried the game yesterday but it did freeze at random and the sleep timer is set to usleep(I don't touch that option) The only difference between my settings and @Ghostotakoi are:

Block Size: Safe Frame LimitL 59.94 Relaxed ZCULL Sync: Off Disable ZCull Occlusion Queries: off Use GPU Texture Scaling: off And I also have the BLES02136 version

And I also have "Disable on-Disk Cache" enabled because until now,this game was creating thousands of shaders files in very short time and at one point rpcs3 just stops doing anything

Its crashing on my end again too, although it does seem to be fairly random. I have adjusted my other comments to mention this.

well i keep playing with no issue so far with those settings, i post early and not a single crash ever.

@Ghostotakoi I think the only reason you are not getting any crashes is because you are not using EU/US version which appears to be crashing after 5-10 mins in game

@Ghostotakoi Also if you wouldn't mind, could you please tell me where did you get BLJS10257 version? i can't seem to find it anywhere and that's the only region working fine so far, i have tried all and done all the tweakings i could but nothing worked.

@johanliebert12 long time ago back on the ps3 era from a friend who travel to japan, also still no issues so far.

@Ghostotakoi I see and yes i am sure you don't have any issues going only because you are using this region, i have talked to some others who are also using this same region and they don't have any issues either, guess most of us will have to wait for this freezing problem to be fixed in US/EU region.

I've retested this game and, on the current latest build (0.0.27-15082), this issue only appears to occur when setting Preferred SPU Threads to 2 or lower, with crashes becoming more frequent with lower thread settings. Also, regarding @Yushimer's comment, my legally aquired copy of the game is the NPUB31647 version you appear to have linked. That said, we've already established that this appears to be unrelated to which version of the game you play. RPCS3.log.gz

my case when i never click any button its run smooth 30 fps but when i click keyboard ( X ) or move character, its directly freeze ( Free Battle ).

Can you help me get an IRD for that version, I wanted to test it out and play it? I'm currently in a situation where I can't get one, one is nonexistent on the internet apparently. I'd do anything for one. I appreciate it.
