Open SIUUUUUUUUUU17 opened this issue 9 months ago • 7 comments

Quick summary

When closing any game (Project DIVA F 2nd [NPUB31488] tested), RPCS3 freezes completely and throws a fatal error stated on title. This only happens on Linux, as I played the same game on Windows and such a thing never occurred to me

I am also getting the same Segfault executing location error after updating from v0.0.36-17736 to v0.0.36-17778 in Linux Mint 22.1. God Of War Collection even refuse to boot. i have no such issue in v0.0.36-17736.

Same thing happens on linux mint for me, downgrading to 17748 seems to fix crashing whenever closing any type of game, upgrading to 17751 seems to cause it. so I am going to assume higher versions are going to be like this too.

Does this crash happen when closing the game window or by stopping the game via GUI? If it's the first, I had already reported it along with another issue, if it's the latter then I cannot reproduce.

Fedora 41

Since you're on Linux, it would help if you compiled rpcs3 locally with RelWithDebInfo, then attached gdb to it and got the backtrace from the crash

Very interesting, I can replicate this on Arch Linux when using X11 but not Wayland

Same here on Linux Mint but with 00007731ac010540 on latest build 17808.

As HybidPrime said, last working version is 17748:

This PR #17270 seems to fix this issue. I am not getting segfault error after closing a game on Linux Mint 22.1.

Im using version rpcs3-v0.0.38-18263-3c401e7b_linux64 on CachyOS Linux 6.17.4-4-cachyos with the following specs:

Intel 14900k 64GB Ram 4090 RTX Z690 AORUS PRO

KDE Plasma 6.5 and Wayland

Doing pretty much anything (compile, like installing new firmware, launching games, cache, etc..) causes this error:

RPCS3 then wait around 3 seconds before crashing. Tried normal and appimage versions.

Log files sadly comes out empty.

Could be related? On the other hand.. havent booted RPCS3 in ages.
