Boku no Natsuyasumi 3 [BCJS30010]: Grass rendering issue

Open mbriar opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Quick summary

On the title screen of Boku no Natsuyasumi 3, where the kid is sliding down a hill, sometimes the grass flickers out of existence and is not rendered properly. This does not happen on PS3.

Details

Video from RPCS3: https://mega.nz/file/L64lBR4B#cf1fRIejm30_phW2NKjfKNQNBmK94lUanszP6M8nfas

Video from PS3: https://mega.nz/file/KiZWAQgQ#v673h6-yflzu0mu4Rea9e-aeG22FEIe7RHu_O4IjdTA

Especially visible around second 8-10 on the RPCS3 video, compare to second 6.5-8.5 of the PS3 video.

Attach capture files for visual issues

RSX capture: https://mega.nz/file/DvwjwApS#HoRCu9TusFB_LaAccRRMAtTGKImgCIr7LnxjSvPbZcY

Unfortunately, opening this capture only produces a black screen for me. If you have any ideas how I can get a working one, or if a RenderDoc capture using a RX 6700 XT would be useful, I'm happy to provide one.

System configuration

OS: Arch Linux, kernel 6.1.8 GPU: AMD RX 6700 XT Drivers: Latest Mesa/RADV stable or main, same behavior on AMDVLK and the proprietary vulkan driver

Other details

OpenGL has the same issue, I tried a bunch of options, including:

  • PPU/SPU interpreter
  • Accurate XFloat
  • WCB, strict rendering mode, disable vertex cache
  • Read/Write depth/color buffers

None of them seem to affect the issue.

Also went back to a build of RPCS3 from 2021 and it had the same issue, so does not appear to be a regression.

Retested and there no change. Using other buffers + Cpu Blits build ( v0.0.30-15916-80b7fd5f)

This needs a retest since instancing was reimplemented.
