skate. (BLUS30059) crashing after short period in game.
While playing Skate 1/skate./BLUS30059 the game loads and runs correctly, but after playing for roughly 5 minutes the game freezes and crashes the emulator. If I stay in the same area that I spawn in, the game plays for longer but will still crash after roughly 10 minutes.

Linux RSX lockup bug. The cause is unknown, but this is the second report I've seen with this signature.
In case it helps, I tested this title for RSX lockup too. WCB was on, otherwise default config.
Results:
- With vulkan, I encountered no freezing after traveling to different sections of the game in "freeskate" mode and skating for 45 minutes.
- With opengl, the game froze after about five minutes ingame as reported above and in my bioshock 2 report. Logfile from this attempt: RPCS3.log.gz
I haven't experienced any major issues on linux for a while. Is this still an issue?
Unfortunately yes @kd-11, in testing OpenGL multiple times against commit 67c02e3522a576d1d739fa130f484ab9a64b5d62, freezing still occurs shortly after starting "freeskate" mode, as soon as it starts compiling shaders ("Compiling shaders" message is always visible in the lower-left when it does).
For reference, my system specs is relatively similar to @Dino0986 above; i.e.:
- OS: Mint 21 (also a Ubuntu 22.04 derivative) / kernel 5.15
- CPU: Intel i7-10870H
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 3070 / driver 515.65 (secondary GPU is Intel CometLake-H GT2 in case it matters, I assume the Nvidia card is selected for OpenGL based on my log?).
- Log of latest attempt: RPCS3.log.gz
Happy to help further if you need anything else.
The compilation itself is fine, all it does is slow down the emulator a lot. For OpenGL unfortunately the driver is in control for compiling shaders. I should experiment with spirv shaders at some point to see if it helps.
My guess is that the shader compilation causes some extreme stutter that breaks the thread somehow. I am unable to reproduce the full hang on radeonsi.
Thanks for looking into this. I should note that my new tests are showing freezing occurring at the first attempt to compile shaders (so in the first few seconds of gameplay). In earlier tests I was able to play the game for five minutes or so before it froze.
Needs an update.
Thanks @kd-11. Unfortunately it still freezes; however it occurs after about 1 minute of play and past the first shader compile at least. Again this is only with OpenGL - the game runs fine with no freezing in Vulkan.
Updated specs in case it helps:
- OS: Mint 21.1
- GPU Driver: 525.60
Is this still an issue?
I'll leave this to the OP as I don't have the title anymore. I do recall it was running fine in Vulkan up to my last test, though OpenGL freezes when compiling shaders for any titles on the test system here, not just this one, as discovered since the report above.
@Dino0986 is that still an issue?
