Alter genome browser so that users can jump to a specific gene

Open blakesweeney opened this issue 7 years ago • 0 comments

A common task for a user is to have a gene they are interested in and want to look at the genomic region near it. Thus we should allow people who have a gene or locus tag to jump to that location easily in the genome browser page. The idea would be to allow a user to enter a gene/locus tag (maybe other values) and then we could jump to the first location in the selected genome and provide a listing of the hits. This could build off the text search but with much more limited options.
